What Dealers Should Do at the Showdown of Texas Holdem Poker
Learning to deal Texas Holdem poker is one of the greatest things that any person or poker player can achieve. This may seem quite easy especially for those who are already familiar with the game, but this task indeed requires a lot of commitment, patience and perseverance before anyone can say that this trade has already been mastered. It is quite interesting to know and to reflect on how far the dealers will go before their jobs are to be completed.
The responsibilities of dealers in Texas Holdem poker games are very great. The order and success of each and every game greatly depend on how it is to be run. It is after the different stages and betting rounds of the game have been passed before it can be called a successful one. Dealers do have such a great task for they are at work from the start of the game up to the point where the pot is to be handed to the winner.
After the long and arduous task of handling the Texas Holdem poker game from the posting of the two blind bets down to the four crucial betting rounds, the dealer will have to continue working if the game is still yet to be decided. As all the serious poker players and aficionados out there know, the game is composed of four betting rounds which include the pre-flop, the flop, the turn, and the river.
After all of these aforementioned betting rounds have already transpired and a winner is yet to be determined, an impending showdown will push through. If there are two or more players who are left active after all the others have folded and after the four betting rounds have been exhausted, the dealer will have to ask the different players to expose their poker hands for everybody else to see.
The player who will emerge with the much better poker hand will be declared the ultimate winner. However, in case of ties, the pot is to be split by the remaining best players. Dealers should always keep in their heads the fact that a sixth community card would never be opened no matter what. If indeed there is a tie after the showdown, the dealers must just leave it that way.
After the hands have been unraveled, the dealer will then act as the official who would determine the winner and give the much awaited pot. It is at this point that it can be said that the task of the dealer for that particular Texas Holdem poker game is done. After this, a new game will ensue to continue the excitement and fun of playing really good poker.
